This is a small project created for my thesis.
I am currently writing an academic paper to answer if Visual Cues help players' Flow State within Metroidvania games, and the purpose of Omega Station is to gather data from players to support the research.

The Objective:

Omega Station has been invaded.
Find your equipment.
Get all the stars before the invaders to win the game!

Core Gameplay Loop

Explore → Find and hack stations → Find your equipment → Find all stars

Main Mechanics

Player Equipment (when available)

• Double Jump - Additional jump midair.
• Dash - Quick leap that allows the character to travel a small distance depending on the direction they are facing.
• Wall Destruction - Certain walls can be destroyed by interacting with them.

Enemies

• Automatic turrets - Constantly shoots projectiles at the player. Careful, some of them are faster than others.
• Soldiers - Melee space-swordmen. Fast and deadly, Dark Souls-style hitboxes.

• More levels
• Player attacks
• Leaderboard
• More Sfx’s for different elements of the level
• Camera panning
• Room transitions
• Save System refinement
• Full control support on all menus

Known Bugs

With your help, this list could be longer!

• Sometimes the player will get damaged even when the Soldiers didn't make contact
• Turrets shoot at the player even if there is a wall in front. No damage is applied
• Resolution and Scale adjustment break the game's window if the used monitor doesn't support the selected settings
